An action-packed trailer for the upcoming third season of For All Mankind has just been released. It ended with yet another startling time jump, one that hinted at humanity’s eventual successful mission to Mars.
What if the Russians had landed first, before the Americans? That was the intriguing concept of the first season of For All Mankind. The race to colonize the moon and beyond was never really over, and the two Cold War rivals further ratcheted up the competition as time went on.
Season 1 of For All Mankind covers the years 1969 through 1973 at a breakneck speed. After a decade-long time shift to 1983, the second season culminates in an apocalyptic finale that threatens to wipe out both humans and the Moon. In 1995, the first humans set foot on Mars, as depicted in the film’s epilogue.
A new president, new astronauts, and new missions await as the show resumes its fast-forwarding sequence.
For All Mankind Season 3 Release Date
Season 3 of For All Mankind will premiere on Apple TV Plus on Friday, June 10, 2022.
It is projected that there will be 10 episodes in Season 3, which will be released weekly.
On Nov. 1, 2019, Apple TV Plus launched, and the first season premiered. Season 2 premiered on February 19th, 2021.
Season 3 began filming in late February of 2021 and was completed in September of that same year.
For All Mankind Season 3 Trailer
In the For All Mankind season 3 trailer, we see a private entrepreneur named Dev Ayesa competing with the United States and the Soviet Union in the race to Mars. In his plans, he intends to get on the Red Planet before the government’s efforts. Is there a hint of Elon Musk about this?
In addition, the new faces in Mission Control can be seen in the video, as well as older versions of the returning characters.
For All Mankind Season 3 Cast
Season 3 of For All Mankind will see some changes to the large ensemble cast.
As a result of the heroic efforts of Gordo and Tracy Stevens, who gave their lives to prevent the destruction of the Moon, Michael Dorman and Sarah Jones will be absent from the sequel.
While the rest of the primary cast is returning, their characters will be in their 40s and 50s, therefore they’ll be donning aging cosmetics. Included in this cast are Joel Kinnaman as Ed Baldwin, Shantel VanSanten as Karen Baldwin, Jodi Balfour and Sonya Walger as Danielle Poole and Ellen Wilson, as well as Wrenn Schmidt and Margo Madison.
Coral Pea as Aleida Rosales, Cynthy Wu as Kelly Baldwin, and Case W. Johnson as Danny Stevens are among the show’s newer cast members who are sticking around. One of the latter two could even be the astronaut responsible for placing the boots on the Martian surface in the first instance.
Actor Edi Gathegi, well known for his role as the vivacious Dev Ayesa, joins the cast as a new series regular.
For All Mankind Season 3 Plot and Season 2 Finale, Explained
For All Mankind’s season, two finales are one of the year’s best episodes thus far. With two favorite characters being killed off and an entirely new storyline being set up for season 3, it’s a gut-punch of a conclusion.
In the conclusion, both on Earth and on the moon, the war between the United States and Russia approaches a critical point. The Marines and Russian cosmonauts have a gunfight at the Jamestown base, which could lead to a nuclear reactor meltdown.
Gordo (Michael Dorman) and Tracy (Sarah Jones) must fix the problem to save everyone on the base and prevent the moon from becoming uninhabitable for millions of years.
They wrap themselves in duct tape and sprint across the moon’s surface to survive the harsh conditions. Success comes at the cost of living, though. They die as heroes, holding each other’s hands as they go to their final rest.
Meanwhile, in lunar orbit, Ed (Joel Kinnaman) and Sally (Ellen Wroe) go head-to-head over a Russian spacecraft that needs to be blasted to pieces.
On Apollo, Danielle (Krys Marshall) defies orders and docks with the Soyuz, despite the orders of her superiors. Her handshake with a cosmonaut prompts President Reagan to make peace with the Russians, which is aired over the world.
Margo (Wrenn Schmidt) receives a phone call from her Soviet counterpart Sergei following the sad funerals of the Stevenses. He’s working with intelligence agents to attempt and use her as an asset for their cause!
Once on Mars, we see a pair of boots crunching through the red dirt. It is 1995.
“The Red Planet becomes the new front in the Space Race not only for the U.S. and the Soviet Union but also an unexpected new participant with a lot to prove and even more at stake,” Apple TV Plus states in its season 3 description of the show.
A “pressure cooker that develops to a cataclysmic finish” will see characters “find themselves going head-to-head as their objectives for Mars come into conflict and their loyalties are tested”
