This next weekend, Chesapeake will play host to a huge party! On Thursday, May 18, the Chesapeake Jubilee will arrive in the city, and the organizers have promised a weekend full of new entertainment, rides, and family fun for people of all ages.
After an absence of two years, the carnival was held once again in Chesapeake last year. The event’s organizers have stated that they are putting in much effort to make the Jubilee this year even more enjoyable.
Domestic Activities
The Jubilee is bringing the “World of Wonders” show to the city for the first time this year. There will be a number of exciting acts, such as sword swallowers and fire eaters. The Jubilee will also feature Texas Tommy’s Wild West Review performance and Hot Dog Pig Races for the first time this year.
According to the Jubilee’s executive director, Stephanie Welke said, “We had a great response to our family acts at the 2022 Jubilee, so we searched the country for new entertainers to round out our lineup this year.” There will be several performances of each act each day.
Music
The Jubilee will share the stage with several musicians from the surrounding area during the weekend. Following everything else, audiences will be treated to a tribute performance for Lynyrd Skynrd.
For the past 30 years, “Second Helping: The American Lynyrd Skynyrd Show” has traveled across the country, paying honor to the band and its devoted fans. This next weekend marks the launch of Second Helping in the Chesapeake region.
Just Standing, Magg Dylan, and “The Funky Blues Kings” are just a few of the other bands who will be performing.
Amusement
According to the statement, “Amusements of America” will serve as the provider for the carnival midway during the Jubilee once again. The service provider makes various rides, activities, and food kiosks available during the weekend. The “Wild Mouse” and a Ferris wheel are two of the attractions that can be found here.
