Menounos was born in Medford, Massachusetts, a suburb of Boston, to Greek immigrants Costas and Litsa Menounos, who were employed as nightclub janitors in Boston.
Peter is her younger brother’s name. Maria Menounos visited the Somerville, Massachusetts, Greek Orthodox Church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary. She went to Medford High School as well.

Undergaro, to his surprise, majored in history at college. But after earning his degree, he changed his mind and chose to work in the entertainment industry, beginning as a TV writer.

Menounos stated in a conversation with Yahoo! Entertainment that they first met in 1998 on the set of a movie they were both working on when she was just 19 years old. She said to the publication, “It was love at first sight.”
Undergaro was also smitten with his future bride at the same time. “When I initially met Maria, I had never encountered anyone like her,” he remarked. When Did The Couple Get Engaged?
When they were promoting Menounos’s book, The Every Girl’s Guide to Cooking, on The Howard Stern Show in 2016, over 20 years after they first started dating, Undergaro proposed. We knew we were married in our hearts, so we waited to offer, he said to Yahoo. We were Kurt and Goldie-ing it, so we didn’t need any of that to make it solid.
So when the proposal came, Menounos was undoubtedly happy to have a ring on it finally. We had a lot of beautiful memories watching Howard Stern in the basement, said Undergaro. Coming together on that show was such a turning point for us.
When Did They Get Married?
The couple shared their moment with the rest of the world by getting hitched on New Year’s Eve television in Times Square. We ended up getting married on Fox New Year’s Eve, Menounos remembered. Steve Harvey officiated our ceremony. Everyone who received an invitation participated.
Additionally, the couple wed in a Greek Orthodox church in Akovos in a fantasy ceremony. “Everyone made sure that the wedding was about love and us, and everyone made it the most special day for us,” Menounos said of the attendees.
