Many of Hollywood’s biggest stars gathered at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday night. Jamie Lee Curtis was one of the stars in attendance (March 12, 2023).

The actress who appeared on Halloween was recognized for her work in Everything, Everywhere, All at Once, the film that took home the top award of the evening. She triumphed over her co-star Stephanie Hsu to win the Best Supporting Actress prize and the Oscar.

“My mother and my father were nominated for Oscars in different categories,” Curtis explained in her acceptance speech. “I just won an Oscar,” a tearful Jamie Lee Curtis tells the audience.

Trading Places earned Curtis the award for Best Supporting Actress at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) in 1984. After another five years had passed, in 2000, Curtis was once again considered for a nomination for the BAFTA award for Actress in a Leading Role.

This nomination is in recognition of her work in the movie “A Fish Called Wanda.” Recognizing his work in this production, the Golden Globes nominated Curtis for an award.
