Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 3 Release Date Status!

Ascendance of a Bookworm, Season 3

The release date for Season 3 of The Ascendance of a Bookworm has been set as April 11, 2022, during the Spring anime season. The official Honzuki no Gekokujou Season 3 release date was announced on Twitter, along with a new key graphic for the third season.

The main Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 3 teaser was released on March 12, 2022. The official Twitter account for Honzuki no Gekokujou Season 3 announced the release date and a new key visual for the third season.

The primary trailer preview for Season 3 of Ascendance of a Bookworm was published on March 12, 2022. The Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 3 anime will continue Myne’s narrative as an apprentice shrine maiden alongside Ferdinand.

A new Season 3 trailer was published on January 20, 2022. Myne talked about her new baby brother Kamil and what was going on in the temple in the preview video.

The nobility’s desire to control Myne’s magical skills is causing ominous clouds to gather.

“The narrative continues,” said Episode 26, but anime viewers will have to wait over a year to find out when Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan who Erandeiraremasen Season 3 will be released.

Officially, the first season of the Bookworm anime series was a “split-cour anime,” with the second half (Episodes 15–26) based on half of the light book series’ Part 2.

You might be wondering what a “cour” is. For those unfamiliar with the term, a “cour” is three months of television programming based on physical seasons of 10 to 13 episodes.

A “split-cour” is when a single anime season is taken off the air for several months before returning.

It should be noted that the announcement for the third season was written as Part 3 (3), not Season 3 (3). However, for this article, we’ll refer to the anime’s second season as Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 2 because that’s how streaming sites like Crunchyroll refer to it.

As a result, any seasons after Episode 27 will be referred to as Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 3.

The Ascendance of a Bookworm anime was previously produced by Ajia-Do, which also animated How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord in 2018 and Izetta: The Last Witch in 2016.

The Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 3 anime will feature a new cast, while the majority of the original cast will return.

The project was directed by Mitsuru Hongo (World Trigger) with Assistant Director Yoshiki Kawasaki (episode director for Monster Hunter Stories: RIDE ON). The anime’s writing was handled by Mariko Kunisawa.

The character designers are Yoshiaki Yanagida and Toshihisa Kaiya. They were both previously credited as chief animation directors. Noriko Otake and Emiko Endo will be the lead animation directors for the third season. Haruka Matsunae, a third character designer, is also joining the team.

Nao Toyama will perform “Ano Hi no Kotoba” for the Season 3 OP (opening) of The Ascendance of a Bookworm. Maaya Sakamoto will perform “Kotoba ni Dekinai” as the ED (ending).

“Pure White,” performed by Sumire Morohoshi, was the Ascendance of a Bookworm OP for the first cour in the previous season. Megumi Nakajima performed the ED “Hair Ornament Angel.” Sumire Morohoshi also sang the OP for Season 2, “Commotion.”

On June 21, 2020, The Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 2 Episode 12 concluded the second season. On March 10, 2020, two Ascendance of a Bookworm OVA episodes were released.

The OVA episodes were included in the limited version of Volume 22 of the light novel (or Part 5: Volume 1). Crunchyroll has recently started broadcasting the English-dubbed OVA episodes.

This article contains all known information about Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 3 (Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan who Erandeiraremasen Season 3) as well as any relevant news. As a result, news, rumors, and analysis will be added to this article over time. Meanwhile, let’s look into what we do know for sure.

Ascendance of a Bookworm, Season 3

Why the Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan wo Erandeiraremasen Season 3 release date is in 2022

In July 2020, it was revealed that a sequel would be made. The timeline was verified in August 2021. The Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan whose Erandeiraremasen Season 3 release date was finally set for April 11, 2022, in March 2022.

This information was not unexpected. Ajia-Do has only ever produced one or two anime projects per year in the past. The anime adaptation of the Hidden Things (Kakushigoto) manga series and the Incredible Zorori (Kaiketsu Zorori) children’s book series were the only projects they had in 2020, except for Ascendance of a Bookworm Part 2.

The Kemono Jihen anime, based on the manga, will be released in 2021 by the studio. In 2021, a sequel to the 2020 anime Motto! Majime ni Fumajime Kaiketsu Zorori will be released.

Because anime projects are planned for years, the Ascendance of a Bookworm Part 3 anime couldn’t begin production until at least late 2021. As a result, we correctly forecasted in 2020 that Bookworm anime lovers would likely have to wait until 2022.

The ascendance of a Bookworm manga, light novels, and web novels compared to the anime

The anime’s plot is based on author Miya Kazuki’s and illustrator Yo Shiina’s light novel series Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan who Erandeiraremasen.

The story was first published as a web novel series on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in 2013 when the writer self-published it.

The web novel, which was completed in March 2017, has 677 chapters and is organized into five parts. Publishers TO Books began adapting the web book into a light novel series in January 2015.

The light novel version has considerably changed the web book by adding scenes and rearranging the order of events in some chapters. Changes in the narrative viewpoint have also been implemented.

The first four parts, or 460 chapters of the web novel, were adapted into 21 light novel volumes, with the last having released on December 10, 2019.

Volume 22 was released on March 10, 2020, and began to adapt Part 5, which has 217 web novel chapters left to cover.

The Ascendance of a Bookworm Volume 26 release date occurred on April 10, 2021. The Ascendance of a Bookworm Volume 27 release date is scheduled for August 10, 2021.

The book series is up to Ascendance of a Bookworm: Part 5 Volume 6. Based on the length of the final part, Part 5 could easily be over 10 books by itself, possibly ending with Volume 32.

As of early July 2021, the book series reportedly had around 4.5 million copies in circulation.

The manga adaption of Ascendance of a Bookworm is being illustrated by artist Suzuka. Part 1 began in October 2015 and ended with seven manga volumes.

Both Parts 2 and 3 of the manga were adapted simultaneously in 2018, with Part 2 having 5 volumes and Part 3 having 4 volumes as of early 2021. Part 4 was released later, and as of July 2021, it had expanded to two volumes.

The official English translation for the Ascendance of a Bookworm manga and light novel series has been licensed by J-Novel Club.

As of September 1, 2021, the English light novels had only reached Volume 14 (or Part 4: Volume 2).

As of July 2021, the English manga had only reached Part 2: Volume 1, with Part 2: Volume 2 due on September 1, 2021.

The general tempo is good, with the plot being told in a way that keeps the heart of the novel while avoiding the use of anime’s original content.

Some of the alterations, however, have angered readers of light novels. For example, the anime begins with Ferdinand, the priest, attempting to read Myne’s mind with a magical mind-reading crown. This scenario immediately discloses the existence of magic, whereas it was a surprise twist in the books.

Similarly, this scenario served as an excellent bookend for the first two seasons. The beginning was linked to one of Episode 26’s final sequences, effectively finishing the loop.

The anime also didn’t sufficiently resolve issues regarding what happened to the original Myne when Urano’s memories took over. On Reddit, followers posted an English translation of the author’s explanation in Japanese:
