During the NFL Draft in 2012, the Buffalo Bills were the ones to select him, and they did so in the first round, making him the tenth player chosen overall. Since Dunta Robinson, he became the second-highest-drafted cornerback from the University of Southern California.
In May 2012, he signed a contract with the team for the next four years, and in his first season with them, he was the starting cornerback. He remained a member of the Bills roster until 2016.
