When did Lauren Silverman and Simon Cowell get Engaged?
After a nine-year relationship, Cowell proposed to Lauren during a romantic vacation to Barbados. On Christmas Eve 2021, Simon got down on one knee in front of the couple’s then-8-year-old son Eric and Lauren’s 16-year-old son Adam from her previous marriage to Andrew Silverman.
“I think after everything all of us had gone through over the past two years, it has changed our lives in so many ways,” he said in an ET interview. “Family is everything, and that is kind of what I took away from it.”
According to a source who spoke to ET, “Lauren was so shocked and didn’t anticipate Simon to propose because Simon never thought he was the marrying type in the past. He realized he had found his ideal partner, and he changed his mind.
The insider continued, “Lauren shed joyful tears as Simon proposed and she immediately said yes. Simon has Lauren as his pillar of support, and she never fails to. They adore one another and are both incredibly happy. The proposal was a logical progression.

How Did Lauren Silverman and Simon Cowell Meet?
Lauren first met Simon in 2004 at the Sandy Lane resort in Barbados. At the time, Lauren was married to real estate tycoon Andrew Silverman, who was apparently a close friend of Simon’s. Although he was interested in her, Simon went on to date other women, such as makeup artist Mezhgan Hussainy and TV personality Terri Seymour, with whom he was engaged for a year (2010–2011).
