S.W.A.T., an American procedural action drama television series, is based on the 1975 Robert Hamner and Rick Husky television series of the same name. In the new series, Aaron Rahsaan Thomas and Shawn Ryan collaborated to produce it.
Original Film, CBS Studios, and Sony Pictures Television produced the show, which premiered on CBS on November 2nd, 2017.
After being renewed by CBS on May 9, 2019, the program was picked up for a third season on October 2, 2019.
In May 2020, CBS renewed the show for a fourth season. November 11th, 2020 marked the beginning of the new season. Five seasons were shown of the show beginning on October 1, 2021, and in April 2021. In April 2022, the show was renewed for a sixth season.
The Shield, which Ryan also created for FX, is set in the same universe as this show.
S.W.A.T. Season 6 Release Date
Season 6 of S.W.A.T. is returning to CBS. This was confirmed by Shemar Moore, the show’s star, on Twitter. Just in time for the show’s 100th episode, which will air on April 10, 2022.
The release date for S.W.A.T. Season 6 has not yet been announced. Only the renewal news has been announced thus far. According to previous seasons, we may estimate that the season will begin in October or November of 2022.
The number of episodes in the upcoming season has been announced to be 22. S.W.A.T. is available on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and CBS All Access.

She is no longer an officer, Chris Alonso. S.W.A.T. original cast member Lina Esco is stepping down after five seasons on the CBS drama.
In a social media post, Esco bid farewell to his followers. I’ve got to make one of the most difficult choices of my life.” When she appeared as the bisexual character Alonso in Sunday night’s season finale, she worked her last shift.
According to a statement by Esco on Instagram, “bringing to life a strong and intelligent bisexual character like Chris Alonso has been both a pleasure and a meaningful opportunity to enhance exposure for varied women globally.”
Five years later, I’ve decided to leave SWAT to pursue new creative ventures. As an actor and director, I’m eager to break out of my comfort zone and begin a new chapter in my life like Chris does.”

What Could S.W.A.T. Season 6’s Plot Be?
Season 5 finds Hondo in Mexico, where he intends to reflect on his past, present, and future, only to be entangled in a new set of challenges. While helping Street prepare for his mother’s funeral, Chris is informed about Street’s passing.
Nichelle’s connection with Hondo changes when he visits Los Angeles. Soon later, he and Nichelle take a giant stride forward in their relationship. Leroy asks Hondo for help at the end of season 5 after nearly overdosing.
Hondo and his squad are expected to face a new set of crimes in Los Angeles in the sixth season of the show. In the future, it will be interesting to see how the major step affects Nichelle and Hondo’s relationship and where it leads. Alternatively, we may see if Hondo can help Leroy.
