Police Arrest 6 After Protests In Atlanta, Georgia!

After hundreds of demonstrators flocked to the streets of Atlanta in response to Manuel Teran’s death, who was shot at the prospective location of the Atlanta police training center, six persons were detained on suspicion of domestic terrorism and other offenses on Saturday evening.

Domestic terrorism, arson, riot, unlawful property destruction, interference with government property, and unlawful assembly are the allegations each of the six faces.

Nadja Geier, 24, of Tennessee; Madeleine Feola, 22, of Washington; Ivan Ferguson, 23, of Nevada; Graham Evatt, 20, of Decatur, Georgia; Francis Carool, 22, of Maine; and Emily Murphy, 37, of Michigan were the individuals named by the Atlanta Police Department.

The group has been accused of rioting, unlawful assembly, 2nd-degree criminal damage, 1st-degree arson, interfering with government property, and domestic terrorism.

They have also been charged with a pedestrian in a roadway and willful obstruction of a law enforcement official. Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum stated during a press conference later on Saturday night that “a group inside the marching mass opted to commit illegal behaviors, which included breaking of glass.”

Witnesses claimed that rioters in Atlanta’s downtown were smashing buildings and throwing stones at police cars. A resident of Atlanta stated, “Atlanta is a lovely city, and it is awful that we should encounter this kind of behavior.”
