He signed with the University of Central Florida (UCF) as a three-star recruit, where he began as a backup but rapidly rose to become the starter in his freshman year, totaling 1,730 yards and 18 touchdowns.
His college career then led him to Fresno State, where he was named starting quarterback in 2023. There, he showcased his abilities by passing four touchdowns and 366 yards in the season opener against Purdue and contributed 281 yards and two touchdowns in a shutout win against Arizona State.
