Richard Dale Crum, 52, the suspect, was detained following the alleged rampage and is now being accused of first-degree murder in connection with the incident, according to the sheriff’s office. The department stated that additional charges are anticipated to be brought.

Around 11 a.m. ET, the suspect pulled into the parking lot of a store in Arkabutla, a small rural hamlet in northern Mississippi, and opened fire, killing the car’s driver next to him, according to Lance. This was when authorities received the initial 911 call. No other passengers in the vehicle suffered injuries.
