On his profile, Mr. Momeni stated he supported healthcare, finance, and startup clients as a “dedicated technology partner” at multiple Bay Area and San Jose tech organizations.
The profile says he attended UC Berkeley and is fluent in English and Farsi, but a university representative informed The San Francisco Chronicle that they have no trace of him. Mr. Momeni also listed Vista and Laney College.
According to The Chronicle, he started his IT career in 2005 as a network engineer at Marfic Technologies and Coast Range Technologies. He founded Expand IT in 2010 after years as a consultant. In 2020, Mr. Momeni paid $525,000 for an Emeryville flat at 4053 Harlan St. Mr. Momeni was arrested at the Emeryville address at approximately 5 am on April 13.
