Selena Gomez is retracing her career path. Amid her online dispute with Hailey Bieber, the singer, 30, decided to spend some time with her family. On Thursday, Gomez posted pictures of the fish she had caught while fishing with her younger sister, Gracie, 9, and her stepfather, Brian Teefy, on Instagram.
“Texas girl at heart. Cali girl for fun and NY gal for real,” she captioned the carousel post. “Grateful, thankful, and blessed lady!”

The former Disney Channel star posed with a messy hairstyle and a black sweatsuit with white stars. Trolls on social media, who have all but declared war on the model, went into Gomez’s comments section and repeated the untrue claim that Bieber “copies” her. One troll replied, “Hailey is planning a fishing trip,” and another added, “Guess who’s going to post herself on a boat clutching a fish next.”
“I bet Hailey going to audition for Aquaman 2 for sure,” a third toxic fan said. A few days before, Gomez stopped using TikTok, saying she was “too old” for the “silly” issue involving Bieber.
Given that the “Only Murders in the Building” actor and Justin Bieber‘s model bride had romantic relationships with the “Boyfriend” singer, they have long been compared.
The singer of “Who Says” dated the Canadian crooner intermittently for almost ten years. But he asked Hailey to marry him in 2018, only a few months after ending his relationship with Gomez for good.
Although the two women appeared to put their differences aside when they posed for a photo together last year, the drama flared up again when Selena Gomez’s supporters thought Hailey was making fun of her.
The actress released a video of her thick brows last month and apologized to her followers, saying, “I accidentally laminated my eyebrows too much.”
Soon after, Kylie Jenner, a friend of Hailey’s, posted a picture of her eyebrows on Instagram Story with the caption, “This was an accident?” The mother of two afterward shared a screenshot of a FaceTime conversation she had with the creator of Rhode Skin, which featured a close-up of each of their brows. Quickly, comments sections of TikTok were swamped with viewers branding the duo “mean girls” and criticizing their actions as “childish.”
But, things turned for the worst when trolls fueled the flames by unearthing outdated data and speculating that Hailey has been “copying” Gomez for years. When Page Six contacted Gomez and Hailey’s representatives for comment, they did not provide any.
