How Did Garth Brooks And Trisha Yearwood Meet?
While collaborating on a tape at Kent Blazy’s recording studio in 1987, Garth and Trisha first got to know one another. They both had other spouses at the time they got married.
From 1987 to 1991, Trisha was wed to her first husband, Christopher Latham, and from 1994 to 1999, she was wed to her second husband, Robert Reynolds. From 1986 through 2001, Garth was wed to Sandy Mahl, his first wife. He thought back to their first encounter and the connection they had.

Garth and Trisha made their first public appearance in 2002, a year after their divorce, at the 33rd Annual Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards Induction in New York City. Three years later, the Grammy winner proposed to the “Georgia Rain” singer at Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace in Bakersfield, California.
They exchanged vows in December 2005. Taylor Brooks, August Brooks, and Allie Brooks are three of Garth’s daughters from his previous marriage to Trisha. After their wedding, the Food Network star moved into Garth’s former bachelor house in Nashville.
Garth openly discussed how his relationship with Trisha evolved while quarantined at their Music City home during the COVID-19 outbreak.
“Since you can’t go right now, we chose to utilize quarantine as a period of reflection. In a news release from August 2020, the father of three said, “You can’t just walk away.” The blessing and the burden of this situation are that it has likely been the most trying for us as a relationship. The couple is happier than ever because they took time during the COVID-19 pandemic to focus on their marriage. Garth and Trisha will commemorate their 17th wedding anniversary in December 2022. They revealed how they had recently maintained a strong romantic bond.
“We always had a deep respect for each other,” Trisha gushed to Closer in December 2019. “It’s the friendship and the respect that sustains you. That’s the key, plus we laugh all the time.”
