Floor Jansen Early life and Career
Floor Jansen was born in Goirle, Netherlands, on February 21, 1981. She was raised by her family and younger sister, a trained singer. Jansen studied biology and initially intended to become a biologist. Therefore singing was not her intended path for her musical Career. It turns out that Jansen’s fate was different, as she ends up being the most well-known and prolific metal vocalist in the Netherlands. Not bad at all for a scientist.
Jansen began her musical career in the latter half of the 1990s while attending the Dutch Rock Academy. She then pursued a career in opera and music studies, which helped to develop her voice and make her the next Nightwish vocalist.
Jansen, however, joined the Apocalypse band when she was sixteen before entering the well-known Finnish metal band. After a few years, they changed the name to “After Forever.” The group recorded its debut album, which Transmission Records released in 2000. Starting with Decipher (2001), Exordium (2003), Invisible Circles (2004), & Remagine (2006), the band has released four albums overall (2005).
Jansen’s musical career, however, underwent a big turn when she was given a chance to step in for former Nightwish vocalist Anette Olzon, who quit the band because of her pregnancy. Thus, during the Imaginaerum World Tour in 2013, Jansen temporarily took Anette’s place and joined the ensemble. 2015 saw the release of Nightwish’s Endless Forms Most Beautiful album, which featured her as the lead vocalist and peaked at number one in Finland. The album was a big success both in Finland and the United States. Moreover, Jansen worked with Avalon and Nightmare in addition to successfully recording new albums with Nightwish.
That is not the end, though, as Jansen is a gifted and diligent musician who has committed her life to music. Before joining Nightwish in 2009, she formed her band. ReVamp was a metal-focused band that included five additional members. Two albums by ReVamp were released in 2010 and 2013, and both the Finnish Album Chart and the U.K. Rock Chart gave them high rankings. Jansen was forced to leave ReVamp owing to her later engagement with Nightwish. However, since she could not perform as the main singer for both bands, her duties with Nightwish were considerably more demanding, such as traveling on world tours, etc.
Floor Jansen’s Personal Life
Jansen is an admirable rock artist who prefers to keep their personal affairs secret. She is reportedly married to Sabaton drummer Hannes Van Dahl, and the couple has a daughter named Freya, born in 2017.

As a result, you won’t discover any essential links to it. The couple enjoys a quiet life in Finland on their acreage. Even though Jansen isn’t a huge social media user, you can occasionally find her posting photos on her more than 10,000-follower Twitter account.
