Dirk Nowitzki Kids: A Glimpse Into The Family Life of The Basketball Legend!

Born in Würzburg, Germany, Dirk Werner Nowitzki comes from a sporting family. His father Jörg-Werner, was a handball player who competed for Germany at the highest level, while his mother, Helga Nowitzki, was a professional basketball player. His older sister Silke Nowitzki, a track and field champion in her community, went on to play basketball and is currently employed by the NBA in International TV.

As a youngster, Nowitzki was exceptionally tall, frequently towering over his friends by a foot or more. He began by playing tennis and handball. He became a rated junior tennis player in the German youth circuit. Still, he eventually switched to basketball because he became sick of being referred to as a “freak” because of his height. I’d like you to please stay connected throughout our discussion as we further explore the topic of Dirk Nowitzki’s Kids.

Dirk Nowitzki Kids

Dirk Nowitzki and his wife, Jessica Olsson, have three kids. They have a daughter, Malaika Nowitzki, born in July 2013, and two sons, Max Nowitzki (older son), born in March 2015, and Morris Nowitzki (youngest son) in November 2016. Though Nowitzki has considered acquiring U.S. citizenship, he remains a German national.

Malaika Nowitzki (Daughter)

Malaika, the Nowitzki family’s eldest kid, has an African ancestry and is named after the angel in the Swahili language. She adores living with her two younger brothers in the family of an NBA celebrity. Her father occasionally takes the kids to Kenya and Germany because he wants them to know their roots in Germany and Kenya. Malaika has always been interested in sports, just like her father. She attends a German school in Dallas and mainly concentrates on tennis and gymnastics.

WFAA shared an Instagram post about Dirk Nowitzki and his wife and kids joining an exclusive club last night when the team retired his No. 41.

Max Nowitzki (Older son)

When his parents temporarily relocated to Germany, Max Nowitzki was born there. He used to sing German children’s songs while standing in front of his bed as a child. Max attended the German International School in Dallas with his older sister after arriving in the country with his parents. At home, he converses in three languages—English, German, and Swedish—but he prioritizes English because it is the language he hears the most.

Morris Nowitzki (Youngest son)

Morris was born in the United States like his older siblings but had Swedish, Kenyan, and American ancestry. He is currently five years old. With his older brother Max, he primarily plays tennis and football. Morris is trilingual—he speaks English, Swedish, and German—but frequently mashes them together. Additionally, he likes to play with the family in their sizeable trampoline-equipped backyard playground. Since his father decided to stay mainly at home and raise his kids following his retirement, Morris sings German children’s songs and solves puzzles with him.
