In addition to his goalscoring prowess, the 25-year-old has also improved temperamentally and has been backed by former USWNT legend Carli Lloyd as one of the best upcoming talents. But, Lloyd also seemed to draw parallels between Lionel Messi and Pulisic, which has resulted in Pulisic getting trolled by fans worldwide. Pulisic is, however, unfazed by the trolling. With the USMNT getting ready to start their Copa America campaign, Pulisic has the self-belief to lead their attack and help them win big matches. “For me, it’s really important to lead by just the way I conduct myself every single day in training, around the hotel, around the guys. The winger scored 19 goals and provided 12 assists in all competitions for club and country. More importantly, he spent over 3000 minutes on the pitch for AC Milan, which was a testament to his fitness. However, after playing a key role in Chelsea’s Champions League win in 2021, he will aim to win trophies for USMNT now. The star is also being backed by his compatriots. Fans on the internet were taken by surprise when Carli Lloyd hinted that Christian Pulisic was one of those players who could be a generational talent like Messi. “There is nobody like Messi and I don’t think that there will be somebody like Messi like it’s a generational talent. It’s like Maradona. And then Messi has had that crown. But there are other players, Jude Bellingham, you know Pulisic’s coming up,” Lloyd said on Fox Sports. However, Lloyd clarified her statement saying that she would always back her fellow Americans first. She also reiterated that Messi would always be a special player and it wasn’t a direct parallel to the Argentine star, but a reminder of how Pulisic could impact a tournament like Copa America. With a great chance for USMNT in Copa America this time, the AC Milan talisman will look to achieve something special for his fans and admirers.
