Moana, a Disney animation from the United States, was a great hit in 2016. The picture went on to gross more than $600 million worldwide. This ambitious picture, directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, managed to grab many people’s hearts, prompting the issue of if there would be a Moana 2. Unfortunately, there has been no word on whether Moana 2 will be made.

Moana 2 is expected to arrive in theatres in early or late 2022. There are, however, no assurances. All we can do now is wait and see.

Moana was released in theatres in the United States on November 23, 2016. Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment released the film on Blu-ray (2D and 3D) and DVD on March 7, 2017, in the United States. On February 21, 2017, a digital release was made. There is very little information available about the sequel to Disney’s Moana. However, word on the street is that Disney is in negotiations with both The Rock and Auli’i for a new film. These allegations have fueled the conjecture that Moana is planning an exciting comeback. There has been no official communication about this until today.

Around 2022, there’s a good chance we’ll be watching this animated story with tonnes of fresh experiences.

Moana 2 Cast: Who will be in?

Although it’s difficult to predict who will return for this fascinating animated picture, you can expect to see familiar names such as:

  • Auli’I Cravalho as Moana, the daughter of village chief Tui and his wife Sina, is chosen by the ocean to reinstate the heart of Te Fiti.
  • Dwayne Johnson is Maui, a heroic shape-shifting demigod who accompanies Moana on her journey. A very strong-willed yet irritable demigod.
  • Rachel House as Tala, mother to Tui and Moana’s paternal grandmother.
  • Temuera Marrison is Tui, Moana’s father, chief of Motunui Island, and Tala’s son. 
  • What We Do In The Shadows star cast- Jemaine Clement as Tamatoa, a gigantic villainous coconut crab from Lalotai, the Realm of Monsters.
  • Nicole Scherzinger as Sina. Moana’s mother, wife to Tui, and the village’s chieftaincy.
  • Resident Alien– Alan Tudyk as Heihei, Moana’s pet. He also voices Villager number three.
  • Louise Bush as Toddler Moana
  • Chris Jackson as Tui’s singing voice
  • Oscar Kightley as a fisherman.

Moana 2 Plot: What will happen?

The story of Moana revolves around an adventurous and strong-willed girl who is chosen by the ocean to carry a transcendental relic together with the goddess Te Fiti. She sets out to find Maui, a fabled demigod, if a great light strikes her island, in the hopes of returning the relic to Te Fiti and saving her people. Little is known about where Moana 2 will start. However, because the original film ended with Moana triumphantly returning after her great trip, it is assumed that the sequel will begin here.

Moana 2 Trailer: Is there any official trailer out?

There has yet to be an official trailer for the sequel. As of yet, no formal announcement of the sequel has been made. You can get the gist of this by watching the Moana trailer.

The release date for the sequel has yet to be confirmed via trailers, teasers, first looks, or any other means. If all goes well, the Walt Disney studio will begin filming on the American animated series as soon as possible.
