Woman Allegedly Shoots Terminally Ill Husband In Florida Hospital Room!

In what authorities described as a “tragic and awful case,” a woman is accused of shooting and killing her terminally sick husband on Saturday in his Florida hospital room. The couple allegedly plotted the incident together.

According to Chief Jakari Young, Daytona Beach police officers responded to a shooting at AdventHealth Daytona Beach at approximately 11:35 a.m. local time.

According to Young, the 77-year-old patient, Jerry Gilland, was thought to have been shot in the head. His 76-year-old wife, who had locked herself in the hospital room, was the subject of hours of negotiations with police before giving herself up just after 3 p.m. local time, according to police.

Should the husband take a “turn for the worst,” the couple allegedly plotted the shooting around three weeks ago, Young claimed. Young declared, “It’s a horrible and unfortunate occurrence.” It demonstrates that none of us are immune from experiencing life’s difficulties.

Young applauded the hostage takers for having an extended conversation with the wife while she was still holding the rifle. According to Young, officers entered the room with a flash bang to divert the woman and take her into custody.

Young said it was a “difficult case” and that Ellen Gilland might be charged with first-degree murder. Given that her husband had a terminal illness and she was aware of its imminence, Young said that she was already despondent.

The chief said, “Unfortunately, we see this pretty frequently, especially over the holidays. I could only advise people to “try their best to seek help if they have ideas, surround themselves with family.”

According to AdventHealth, guests are welcome on the hospital premises. AdventHealth said, “We are grieved by the tragedy that occurred at the AdventHealth Daytona Beach site today, and our prayers are with all impacted.” “We appreciate the Daytona Beach Police Department‘s assistance in ensuring the security of our patients, staff, and guests.”
