In an interview with Entertainment Weekly(opens in new tab), the showrunner hinted that Nick and June would have some unresolved business in the final season.
He said to Entertainment Weekly, “I feel like this is the most romantic Nick/June season ever because they spend the entire time trying to convince themselves that they don’t need to be together. “And in the end, they fail and are not successful. They are so much in love that they don’t even get to see each other in the last episode.”

When Will The Handmaid Tale Season 6 Release?
The good news is that Hulu has formally approved a sixth season of “The Handmaid’s Tale” (via The Hollywood Reporter). That ostensibly good news is bittersweet because Hulu also revealed that Season 6 of the show would be its final season.
Even yet, it’s comforting to know that “The Handmaid’s Tale” creative team and series creator Bruce Miller will get to wrap things out on their terms. And we can only assume Miller and the team are planning a conclusion that is both emotionally rewarding and purposeful in its message.
