The most admirable update on the Fenty family member who won’t be there for the 2023 Oscars was just revealed by Rihanna. Before her much-awaited appearance at the ceremony on Sunday, the celebrity updated her Instagram with new pictures of her gorgeous baby boy.
The singer released a close-up of her son’s face and a little video of the child watching her “Lift Me” music video on a laptop while perched on her lap at what appeared to be their kitchen table.
“My son when he found out his sibling is going to the Oscars and not him,” she captioned the pics, along with “#oscarperformancein1week.”

During her historic Super Bowl halftime show last month, the “We Found Love” singer announced that she is expecting her second child. Rihanna gave birth to her first child—whose name they haven’t yet revealed—with her partner A$AP Rocky last May.
Following the performance, the Fenty mogul posted images from her March British Vogue cover on Instagram to offer the first official pictures of her new, small family. The pop star acknowledged that she was expecting her second kid in those pictures but had no idea when she posted them.
“My son is so fine! Idc idc idc!” she wrote. “How crazy both of my babies were in these photos, and mommy had no clue; thank you so much, @edward_enninful and @inezandvinoodh, for celebrating us as a family!”
With “Lift Me,” Rihanna’s first single in six years, she received her first-ever Oscar nomination. The song is up for Best Original Song in the nominations. The songs “This Is a Life” from Everything Everywhere All at Once, “Naatu Naatu” from RRR, “Applause” from Tell It Like a Woman, and “Hold My Hand” by Lady Gaga from Top Gun: Maverick is also nominated.
