Outlander Season 7 Release Date Status Confirmed or Not? Cast, Plot, Episode, Trailer & More Details!

Outlander Season 7

Outlander Season 7

Although the existence of an upcoming seventh season of Outlander has been confirmed, no date has yet been set for its release.

Starz/Starzplay premiered the sixth season of the time-traveling historical drama in March 2022, continuing the exploits of the Frasers and their family, who are seeking to construct a peaceful existence in 18th-century North Carolina.

Because their lives are never calm, it’s no surprise that the current season concludes with the family divided, with Claire in peril and other members of the family – including Jamie and Young Ian, as well as Roger, Fergus, and Marsali – spread out throughout the land.

For the seventh season of Outlander, what’s in store for us? The following information is all you require.

Outlander Season 7 Potential Release Date:

It was 21 months between seasons five and six because of the pandemic; perhaps fans won’t have to wait as long to see season seven.

An official Outlander photo posted on the show’s official social media platforms in April 2022 showed the show’s core cast back on Scotland set as filming began for the new season.

Maril Davis, the show’s executive producer, stated in an interview with Digital Spy that the seventh season of Outlander will begin filming in May 2022. The upcoming season will be “supersized,” Davis said, though she wouldn’t say when it would premiere.

We already knew that Outlander’s seventh season will be twice as long as season six, at 16 episodes.

According to Balfe, who spoke to Digital Spy for Season 6, production on Season 7 is expected to last 13 months, which would put us in May of 2023.

Episodes are expected to be released within a few months of that, according to Deadline.

Outlander Season 7 Cast:

The following actors are guaranteed to return to the stage after reading these books:

• Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser)
• Caitriona Balfe (Claire Fraser)
• Richard Rankin (Roger Mackenzie)
• Sophie Skelton (Brianna Mackenzie)

Additionally, we’d expect to see some familiar faces, such as:

• John Bell (Young Ian)
• Lauren Lyle (Marsali)
• Cesar Domboy (Fergus)
• Caitlin O’Ryan (Lizzie)
• David Berry (Lord John)

Some of the newer cast members may return to finish their character arcs in the following season, including:

• Alexander Vlahos (Allan Christie)
• Mark Lewis Jones (Tom Christie)
• Brennan Martin (Wendigo Donner)
• Chris Larkin (Richard Brown)
• Paul Gorman (Josiah and Keziah Beardsley)

One of the franchise’s most anticipated characters was eventually brought to life in May 2022 when a new cast member was introduced. William Ransom, Jamie Fraser’s long-lost hidden son, will be played by Lost and The Craft: Legacy actor Charles Vandervaart.

Since his stepfather Lord John Grey (portrayed by David Berry on the show) has reared William, the ninth Earl of Ellesmere, he has no idea who his biological father is.

Additionally, Outlander devotees are anticipating that Graham McTavish may make an appearance in the future. In the first two seasons of Outlander, the actor played Jamie’s uncle Dougal Mackenzie, a role he reprised in the show’s third season.

As Buck, Dougal’s distant relative, he returned to the show in season five and hinted to Digital Spy that he would be open to returning at any time in the future.

“Buck… “I don’t know.” “He was making fun of me. “I’m pretty sure he’s in the books, but I’m not sure. I believe he appears in books seven and eight. Let me tell you something about the entertainment industry: the performers are always the last to find out what’s going on!”

Outlander Season 7 Plot:

Big cliffhangers were left hanging at the end of season six, and they’ll be revisited in season seven.

Malva Christie’s murder trial could take place in Wilmington, and if she is found guilty she will be sentenced to death by hanging.

Young Ian and John Quincy Myers are also on their way to rescue her from Richard Brown’s Committee of Safety, which has just released Jamie from their custody. The two of them had already rescued each other from Fort William, Wentworth, and the Bastille, so they have a lot of expertise in this area.

The seventh season must also answer the question of who killed Malva and what the emergence of time traveler Wendigo Donner means for the Fraser family.

The Fraser family is in for a bumpy road ahead. A growing disturbance across the country was hinted at in the season six finale as Claire made her way to Wilmington, and season seven will reveal just how close Fraser’s Ridge is getting to the Revolutionary War (the American War of Independence).

This book, An Echo in the Bone, takes place between 1776 and 1778 when the Declaration of Independence was written on July 4, 1776, while the war raged on until 1783 in Diana Gabaldon’s seventh book.

You’ll recognize this plot line from the books: Lord John’s’son’ (Jamie’s biological son) and Lord John’s “friend” Lord John are on opposing sides in the war.

When Brianna announced she was pregnant with her second child at the end of season six, she and Roger had a lot of decisions to make about where (and when) they wanted to raise their kid.

Outlander Season 7 Episodes:

Outlander season six was reduced from 12 episodes to eight because of pandemic filming concerns. This is the shortest season of Outlander to date.

The bad news is that. These four episodes will be included in Season 7, which will be a whopping 16(!) episodes long, thanks to the excellent news that they will be carried over.

According to Caitriona Balfe, “What we did was we are now having the four episodes that we would have filmed” (for Season Six) at the beginning of Season Seven, so Season Seven will be a 16-episode season.

To put it another way, “I think it’s still possible to do Outlander in the way we’ve always been capable of doing it; we take our time, we allow the story to evolve…”.

Outlander Season 7 Trailer:

Once a broadcast date has been set for a new season of Outlander, trailers are usually produced by both Starz and Starzplay.

Season seven of Game of Thrones won’t get a trailer until at least the end of 2022, as that’s the earliest we can expect it.

Surely you don’t have that much time to spare. Sam Heughan is now filming a romantic comedy called It’s All Coming Back to Me, which will hit theatres in February. He is also filming a second season of Men In Kilts, which takes place in New Zealand and stars Graham McTavish.
