Our Flag Means Death Season 2: After eagerly awaiting news and updates, fans of HBO Max’s Our Flag Means Death can unwind and rejoice. The show will hoist those sails once more in its second season and sail off into the distance.
According to series star Samba Schutte’s Instagram post, the highly anticipated second season of the historical pirate comedy has finished filming for its upcoming run.
There isn’t much information about the shared photo in Schutte’s Instagram post. A simple clapperboard with the words “Take 1” and “That’s a wrap” written on it, and the title of the comedy series below makes up the sign.
A thank-you note from Schutte to the series’ cast and crew is included with the photo. The actor encouraged fans to be enthusiastic about the future in the caption. The caption reads, “Absolute gratitude, honor, joy, and love for the sweetest crew and the most incredible cast.
Oh, the things to come. @dvidjenkins @taikawaititi @rhysiedarby ~ thank you.” Despite not offering much insight into what to expect as we set sail in the upcoming season, it does feel good to know that filming is done and the move into post-production can’t be far off.

Our Flag Means Death Season 2 plot: What Will Happen Next Season?
No official plot summary for Season 2 of Our Flag Means Death exists as of this writing. However, depending on how the previous season ended, we can make assumptions about what will occur.
Season 1 ended with Stede and Blackbeard realizing their love for one another, but tragedy still befell them. After a difficult meeting, Stede fled to his wife, leaving Blackbeard behind. Heartbroken, Blackbeard reverted to his brutal ways of the past.
Most of Steve’s crew were stranded in these harsh methods, though he captured two to keep them aboard. A lot of damage needs to be repaired next season because he also forced Lucius into the water, where he drowned.
After having a heart-to-heart with his wife and after she unsuccessfully attempted to kill him, Stede was able to regain his composure. He then sets sail again, and the last time we see him, he arrives at the island where his crew has been stranded.
The main focus of Our Flag Means Death appears to be the drama surrounding the reunion of Stede and Blackbeard. In an interview with Decider, David Jenkins stated that “the show is the romance.”
“We get to a point where there has been a separation. What transpires when these two people split up because one has realized he is in love and the other is wounded in a way he has never been hurt before? What effect does that have on each of them in a world of action and pirates where they are striving to reunite? Izzy continues to be a problem, according to Jenkins in an interview with Verge. Similarly, we can now see individuals looking for Our Flag Means Death Season 2.
He describes Izzy as being “deeply in love with Blackbeard, and it’s a very dysfunctional kind of love, and he’s like the jilted spouse who’s losing his man to fucking Stede Bonnet, and he can’t believe this is happening.”
He’ll probably play an antagonist in the upcoming season. Ultimately, each episode will undoubtedly feature a good amount of comedy, romance, and pirate shenanigans, and we can’t wait.
