Jeff Beck Death: According to a statement on his official social media pages, one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time, Jeff Beck, has passed away. He was 78. The statement read, “On behalf of his family, we share the news of Jeff Beck’s loss with deep and profound regret.”
He quietly died away yesterday after developing bacterial meningitis at an unexpected time. His family requests privacy as they mourn this tragic death. His agent Melissa Dragich emailed CNN to corroborate the information.
When Beck took Eric Clapton’s position in the Yardbirds in the 1960s, he became famous. A year later, he disbanded to form his own band, The Jeff Beck Group, with Rod Stewart and Ron Wood. As a member of the Yardbirds, he was elected into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992. As a solo artist, he was again inducted in 2009.
Beck, an eight-time Grammy winner, won his first one in 1985 for “Escapebest “‘s rock instrumental performance. He went on to triumph in that category five more times. After recording a cover album titled “18” together, Beck and Johnny Depp went on tour last year.
Some of the Yardbirds’ 1965 hits “Heart Full of Soul,” Jeff Beck’s 1968 solo debut album with The Jeff Beck Group, “I Ain’t Superstitious,” “Truth,” and “Freeway Jam” from his second album, “Blow by Blow” in 1975 are among the songs that Beck is most well-known for.
Beck “was one of the few guitarists that, when playing live, would truly listen to me sing and respond,” Stewart remarked on Twitter in response to the news of his passing.

He said, “Jeff, you were the best, my man. On Wednesday, Wood, another one of Beck’s former bandmates, paid tribute to him on Twitter and expressed his regret for his passing.
He wrote: “I want to thank him for all our early days together in Jeff Beck Group, slaying America. We broke all the rules in music, and it was amazing ground-breaking rock ‘n’ roll!

Beck’s passing was described as “heartbreaking” by KISS bassist and co-frontman Gene Simmons. Simmons claimed on Twitter that “Jeff played guitar like no one else.”
