He was born on July 7, 1940. Yellow Submarine and “With a Little Help from My Friends” are songs on each album where Starr occasionally took lead vocals with the band. In addition, he co-wrote four more Beatles songs, including “Don’t Pass Me By” and “Octopus’ Garden,” and he also performed on those songs.

Starr was a part of Rory Storm and the Hurricanes, a Liverpool band when the Beatles were formed in 1960. He left the Hurricanes in August 1962 when he was asked to join the Beatles, taking Pete Best’s place, after enjoying some success in the UK and Hamburg. Ringo Starr was not The Beatles’ original drummer; instead, he was a later addition to the group. However, Sir Ringo joined the band just in time for their most significant achievements, arriving just in time.
On August 18, 1962, Sir Ringo Starr became a member of The Beatles after being hired by the group’s manager, Brian Epstein. He was a stand-in for the band’s original drummer, who failed to win over their producer, George Martin.
Pete Best, the drummer in question, had been a band member for a while but left when they achieved popularity. Pete left the band only a few days before Sir Ringo joined, which would have made his firing even more venomous given that the band’s debut album didn’t contain any of his or Ringo’s contributions.

In 1965, Ringo Starr wed Maureen Cox for the first time. George Harrison served as a witness, and Beatles manager Brian Epstein served as best man. Zak and Jason were sons born in 1965 and 1967, respectively, and Lee was a daughter (born in 1970).
Due to Starr’s repeated affairs, the couple filed for divorce in 1975.
