How Did Jeffrey Dahmer Die: The Milwaukee Monster or the Milwaukee Cannibal, Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer (/dmr/; May 21, 1960 – November 28, 1994) was an American serial killer and sex offender who killed and dismembered seventeen men and boys between 1978 and 1991. How Did Jeffrey Dahmer Die?
On November 28, 1994, early in the morning, Dahmer exited his cell to carry out his designated labor assignment. He was accompanied by Jesse Anderson and Christopher Scarver, two other prisoners. For around 20 minutes, the three were left alone in the prison gym’s showers.
At around 8:10 in the morning, Dahmer was found on the floor of the gym’s restrooms with severe head injuries; he had been brutally bashed about the head and face with a 20-inch (51-centimeter) metal bar.
In the assault, his head was also hit against the wall. Dahmer was transported to a local hospital while still alive, but he was declared dead an hour later. The identical tool had been used to beat Anderson, who succumbed to his injuries two days later.
As Anderson cleaned an inmate locker room, Scarver, who was serving a life sentence for a murder committed in 1990, told police that he had first struck Dahmer with the metal rod while Dahmer was cleaning a staff restroom.
Scarver claims that while being attacked, Dahmer made no sounds or yelled. Scarver, believed to be suffering from schizophrenia, shot both men before returning to his cell and telling a jail guard: “God instructed me to do it. Jeffrey Dahmer and Jesse Anderson have passed away.”
Although Scarver eventually admitted to investigators that he had hidden the 20-inch iron rod used to kill both men in his clothing just before the killings, he remained insistent that he had not planned the attacks.
Following his passing, Joyce Dahmer’s angry statement to the media read: “Now, is everyone content? Is everyone satisfied that he has been beaten to death?” Families of Dahmer’s victims had a range of emotions in response to the news; some were happy, and some were sad.
Oliver Lacy’s mother, Catherine Lacy, said: “The hurt is deeper now because he’s not suffering as we are.” Because Dahmer’s death was still considered murder, the district attorney who tried Dahmer advised against making Scarver into a folk hero. Scarver was given two additional life sentences for the killings of Dahmer and Anderson on May 15, 1995.
In his will, Dahmer specified that he wanted to be cremated and that there should be no services. The ashes of Dahmer were divided between his parents and burned in September 1995.
Dahmer’s parents disagreed about whether or not to keep his brain for future medical study; therefore, it was first kept but later cremated in December 1995.

On July 22, 1991, Jeffrey Dahmer approached three men and offered them $100 each if they would pose for nude photos. Tracy Edwards, 32, concurred. When he arrived at Dahmer’s flat, he smelled something horrible and saw a box of hydrochloric acid, which Dahmer claimed was for cleaning.
Despite only being able to tie one of Edwards’ wrists, Dahmer demanded that he pose nakedly while brandishing a knife. After five grueling hours, Edwards could finally flee by acting like he had to use the restroom.
When Dahmer’s guard was down, Edwards hit him, knocking the serial killer off balance. Edwards stopped two police officers after he reported that a “freak” had stabbed him.
The police brought Edwards along as they returned to Dahmer’s flat, where they found severed heads in the refrigerator and Polaroids of dead bodies in the bedroom.
One cop handed the other the images and stated, “These are authentic. Dahmer tried to fight off the arrest when he saw what the cop was holding, but he was defeated. He is reported to have stated, “For what I did, I should be dead,” while he was being held down on the ground.

Yet, he was nonetheless allowed to stand trial because of his legal sanity. Rita Isbell, the sister of Errol Lindsey, one of Dahmer’s final victims, delivered a victim impact statement during Dahmer’s 1992 sentence. In an essay for Insider, she stated, “When I saw some of the show, it bothered me, especially when I saw myself — when I saw my name come over the screen and this person stating exactly what I said.” I might have mistaken it for me if I hadn’t known any better. She wore the same clothes and had hair that was similar to mine.
