On February 11, 1979, Brandy Rayana Norwood was born in McComb, Mississippi. Willie Norwood, her father, is a gospel performer and choir conductor. Sonja Norwood, her mother, worked as a district manager for H&R Block. Ray J, a singer and actor, has an elder sister named her. She is related to WWE wrestler Sasha Banks and rapper Snoop Dogg. Brandy began singing because of her father’s involvement with the neighbourhood church choir. At the age of two, she gave her first gospel solo performance. In 1983, her family relocated to Los Angeles. Brandy went to the Performing Arts Center at Hollywood High School.
Despite coming from a musically inclined family, Brandy didn’t start showing an interest in performing until she was seven years old and heard Whitney Houston. At age 11, she began attending talent competitions and joined a young singing ensemble. She also started performing as a backup singer with the R&B boy band Immature when she was 11.

It took eight months to complete Brandy’s self-titled debut album. Positive reviews followed its September 1994 publication. One music critic compared Brandy’s vocals to a “stripped-down Mary J. Blige” and a “lower-key Janet Jackson.” On the American Billboard 200, the album peaked at position 20. Brandy’s debut album generated three top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including “I Wanna Be Down,” “Baby,” and “Brokenhearted,” and it sold more than six million copies worldwide.

Brandy was also chosen to play the lead role in the sitcom “Moesha” in 1996. She portrayed a young Los Angeles resident juggling the demands of growing up with her family, particularly her stepmother. A six-season run of “Moesha” began in January 1996 on UPN.
Brandy earned the Outstanding Young Actor/Actress NAACP Image Award. “Never Say Never,” Brandy’s second album, was released in 1998. The song “The Boy Is Mine,” a duet between Brandy and Monica, is the album’s biggest hit.

How Did Brandy Norwood Die In A Car Accident?
On December 30, 2006, Brandy was killed in a car crash on the 405 Freeway in Los Angeles while she was on her way home. Awatef Aboudihaj, a 38-year-old Toyota driver whom Norwood’s Range Rover struck, passed on the following day due to her injuries.
According to the Highway Patrol, Brandy was moving at a speed of about 65 miles per hour when she failed to notice the cars slowing down in front of her. Before Norwood’s SUV made contact with her vehicle, Aboudihaj rear-ended the car in front of her and slammed on the brakes. As a result of the incident, Aboudihaj’s family has filed numerous lawsuits against Norwood. Her attorney has resolved each of them outside of court.
