Ten years after her passing, Chiquis honors her late mother, Jenni Rivera! On December 9, 2008, the “Diva de la Banda,” Jenni Rivera, passed away. Few people in Mexico miss a local singer as much as her daughter Chiquis.
In a heartfelt post on social media, Chiquis—real name Janney Marn Rivera—honored her mother. “I can’t sleep.” Chiquis wrote, “I can’t wrap my head around how we’ve gotten here…but I thank God for seeing us through,” next to a picture of her mother when she was a young woman standing next to her and her two brothers.
At this same time ten years ago, you were away, and I was in Vegas, missing you. PST time is now 1:41. I felt the sorrow in your presence that night, and I’ll never forget it. It’s exactly how I feel right now,” she continued.
Since it has been ten years, I naively thought it would be a little simpler today. But it appears to be heavier. It hurts to think I’ve been without you for ten years, Chiquis continued.
“I’ve missed you so much and will continue to miss you. My mother is needed. Your suggestions would be helpful. Your smooches. The assistance you provide
No matter how many years go by or what happens, I PROMISE to keep watching over, directing, and preserving the unity of my siblings. I know how important that was to you, and I think that’s the best tribute I can pay to you and your legacy,” she wrote.
