Producer
I’m a web savvy news junkie always looking for a new challenge.
I am presently the 10 p.m. producer at the NBC affiliate in Madison, WI. My belief is whether they check out our newscast or the web site, I want my station to be the first and only place viewers turn for local news, sports and weather. It’s all about creating a strong brand people can rely on. That translates into not only a clean, intriguing, informative newscast, but a compelling, accurate, and up to the minute web site as well.
I also work closely with the reporters and photographers to create “web exclusive” components to their stories. A behind-the-scenes tour, extra interviews or just interesting tidbits that we weren’t able to work into their package are great ways to drive viewers to the web after the newscast.
In my current position, after the news director leaves for the day, I’m in charge. I have earned the respect of my colleagues to make those important decisions; whether it’s in regards to breaking news or an ethical question.
